Templates imported

I had been a Business Catalyst partner for many years when it closed and we migrated all the BC sites over to Treepl/WebinOne. I’m looking to add two new sites to my account. With BC I used Envato Themforest for HTML templates importing into the BC platform. It was great! The existing sites on my WebinOne account were created that way. However, The WebinOne docs.webinone.com has the documentation for Templates grayed out. I”m unable to see those docs. How do I use Envato themes and Dreamweaver to build out the new sites and import to WebinOne? Please Advise? Thank You!

Hi @WillzShire

The template articles in the documentation will be for specific details about the free, built-in WebinOne templates, not for 3rd party template usage.

However, you can integrate the code of 3rd party templates simply by splitting up the markup into the relevant layouts, content templates, pages, etc.
You can do this directly in the admin via the File Manage and built-in coding environment, or you can connect Dreamweaver to your WebinOne sites via FTP if you want to work directly in Dreamweaver.

Additionally, you could try the new AI Implementor which accepts a .zip file of all the markup and assets of your template site and automatically integrates it into the platform.
This is a new feature and uses AI, so results may vary. But certainly worth a try.

Hi @WillzShire,
How did you import the ThemeForest templates back in the BC days?

As I remember, we do it the exact same way today as we did with BC, and we often use ThemeForest templates as a starting point as well

I also recall that some years ago I did a video on this for Treehouse. (@Adam.Wilson might be able to find it, since I couldn’t see it on the YouTube channel. Not sure if it’s still online or if it was never on Treehouse?) The video was about breaking down the template and setting it up in WebinOne. It’s fairly easy to split the parts into header/footer/template, since it’s more or less the same as with BC.

Let me know if you need more help - I am sure we can get you to a point where you can do it yourself in no time

We have tried the Implementor as well as Adam mentioned (WebinOne Portal) and it performed really well with the themeforest files, so that would be a great way to get going. We use a relatively small amount of the templates, so for us it is still easier to do it " by hand" and pick and choose what we need, instead of installing a complete template and tearing it apart afterwards

HI Peter, Thank you for your helpful comment! I’ll be trying the Dreamweaver build out and then try the AI Implementor to load onto WebinOne and publish.

Thank you Adam, I’ll be trying the Dreamweaver build out like in the BC days and then try the AI Implementor to load onto WebinOne and publish.

Hi Will

No worries

I totally forgot that there was a sort of BC plugin to Dreamweaver, not sure I ever tried it.
But since the general idea on how to build templates, pages, includes, snippets etc. is more or less 1:1 between BC and WebinOne it should be fairly easy for you to do in the backend.

Let me know if you run in to problems with the template. Would love to help you set it up and make a small video of the basics and how I “install” these templates, it is fairly easy, but I am also quite sure that you will like the Implementor :+1:
