Create new event items and have the fields populate data from similar events

We want to create an event item that allows users to automatically populate commonly used fields from other events—without duplicating an existing event. For example, if you manage multiple restaurants that host different bands each week, you wouldn’t need to duplicate a previous event and manually re-enter details like the address, embedded map code, times, or venue information. Instead, you could select a predefined template or source event from a dropdown menu, which would instantly fill in those shared fields for you.

Hi @TedderMedia
Just to clarify, are you posting this as a feature suggestion for the public back log, or are you asking if there is a way to do this?

Hello @Adam.Wilson,
I was asking if there is a way to do this? Our client brought up the question, because they’re tired of always doing the copy and paste for similar events. Thank you!

Thanks for clarifying.
Currently, only the duplication feature is available. But you could create the “template” events as disabled items and the client can duplicate from those.

To make them easy to access, giving the template items names starting with an underscore (eg: “_Event template 1”) will keep them at the top of the list if sorted alphabetically. Otherwise, adding a keyword like “TEMPLATE” to the name, they can use the search to quickly find them.

Thank you, Adam, for your input. I agree that your suggestion is the best approach for now. I appreciate your insight and prompt response.
