Would Offline Payments be on the table as a payment option?
We have a fair few customers who use this feature in BC. Would be nice to put it on the backlog.
I do understand it comes with PCI etc… but I would be interested to see what other partners think about this one. (and what treepl have thought about on the topic)
Makes sense. It’s not implemented yet since it requires order editing process to be implemented along with payment method. Just add please a public backlog request in order to estimate the priority of the feature
Hey @James I think we now add backlog requests to this forum (in the backlog category), where it can be further discussed and then added to the backlog by @Peter-Schmidt
Hey Guys - Yeah I am aware of this post. I will create the request in public backlog soon, I just wanted to see if their where more comments/ideas before I added it
I hope that with the forum there will be more comments and further ideas to the backlog request, so we get more “finished” request on the backlog, and requests that many partners want
Hey @Peter-Schmidt With your listing you have added (quote) at the end. While a quote system i’m sure is nice for some, I meant actual offline payments like BC.
Where the user submits their CC data, it get sent to the admin user as a secure PDF and then the CC can be processed manually and in house.
I just don’t want to get the backlog item confused Ta
Thanks for the feedback, that is now deleted to avoid confusion
Have never used that function, so I got it mixed up.
What payment method would one set up for that to work?
Didn’t know it was a possibility, but can’t think of a scenario where I would like to use it, but very interesting
Thanks for the feedback
EDIT:
I am quite sure that a feature like that would not be allowed to use in Europe, because of the GDPR. The information is much to risky to send via mail.
In which cases have you used it, I guess that the client receiving the information still needs some sort of payment gateway to put the information in? So has it been clients that have used payment gateways not supported by BC?
This sounds like Tokenisation with a Payment Gateway like Payment Express.
No one should be allowed to see, store or retrieve the Credit Card Number but it can be tokenised with the payment gateway and future payments initiated against the token. This will keep the platform secure and PCI compliant.
